Day 20

Light Fog

I've come to realize that Bradford is a very foggy area. So I tried to catch it on camera, several times. And failed, several times. After some research, I found out that I am an idiot, and you cannot capture 'fog' you can only capture the effects fog has on the subjects in front of you. Duh. So! Here is some fog severely diminishing the view from my balcony (there's a big hill/tiny mountain - but you can't see it through the fog!). I particularly like the purple-hued, sunburst effect it gave the sky.

Day 19

Crate This

The sun sets far too early around these parts. Back to night shots for today on a detour home from work. I wanted to catch the fog, but failed miserably. I'll be looking up some techniques..

Day 18

Snowmageddon!

Or rather, a light dusting on my balcony hand rail with a very narrow depth of field. Oh macro lens, how I love thee.

Day 17

Psychedelic Cactus

Wow! Did that cold ever kick my ass. An entire week lost to my bed! I feel like I got run over by a truck - minus the abrasions and broken bones.

Anyway, today I got myself up over to the next room so I could get up close and personal with my garden. That's my cactus with fat, round leaves as opposed to my other cactus with long, thin leaves. I think I've also seen them referred to as succulents. Whatever they are, they make for some interesting macro shots. See the rest on Flickr: Here!

Day 16

Eye of Sonic

Playing around with some macro today. And light! Which I definitely prefer, but I guess I should thank my work schedule for forcing me out on those dark shooting trips - practice makes perfect, right? Anyway - Macro! Sonic's eye. My pets are incredibly patient with me. And trusting. They have no qualms with me shoving a giant lens in their faces. See more pet eyes and the other stuff at Flickr: Here!

Day 15

50km/h Mailbox

More night shooting. Using my headlights for more light. I really just liked the mailbox - clearly someone has been at it with a bat.

Happy snapping,
